NANPA validating the Switching Entity/Point of
Interconnection (POI) on all new
LRN, Pool Replenishment, Dedicated Code Requests Assignment & Code Transfer
Requests
As a result of INC Issue 762, NANPA has been validating the switching
entity/point of interconnection (POI) on all new central office code (NXX)
assignment & code transfer requests. To avoid being
denied
after the PA passes your pooled code request or pooled code transfer request to
NANPA, please be sure that your switching entity/point of
interconnection (POI) is
built in the TELCORDIA TECHNOLOGIES,
INC. d/b/a iconectiv BIRRDS system or will be built by the time NANPA processes
your request. If it is not built your request will be
denied by
NANPA.
Also when entering your switching entity/point of interconnection (POI) on your
pooled code request or pooled code transfer request please be sure that you do
not mistakenly type an incorrect switch or are off by a character since this
will also cause NANPA to
deny your request.
In addition to having your switching entity/point of interconnection (POI)
built in the TELCORDIA TECHNOLOGIES, INC. d/b/a iconectiv
BIRRDS system the switching entity/point of interconnection (POI) must be one of
the valid network entity types appropriate for NXX assignment otherwise NANPA
will
deny the request.
For more information please refer to Sections 4.1, 5.0, and 7.0 of the Central
Office Code (NXX) Assignment Guidelines (COCAG) and Sections 4.7 and 5.7 of the
COCAG Appendix C, on the ATIS/ INC website (
