Quarterly Pooling Tip – December 2023

Porting of Unavailable TNs Must Be Completed Prior to Submitting Block Disconnect Requests

NANPA has seen an increase in the porting of TNs after a block disconnect request has been approved in PAS.  As a reminder, any Intra-Service Provider (ISP) Porting of any contaminated TNs must be completed prior to submitting the block disconnect request in PAS per section 11.1.2 of the Thousands-Block (NPA-NXX-X) & Central Office Code (NPA-NXX) Administration Guidelines (TBCOCAG).

Failure to complete this step has resulted in new block holders unknowingly receiving contaminated blocks, service disruptions, and duplicate assignments.

For more information, please refer to sections 11.1.2 of the Thousands-Block (NPA-NXX-X) & Central Office Code (NPA-NXX) Administration Guidelines. To access the current INC Guidelines located on the ATIS website, click here
